Jellyfin Player Interface question - sporkpie - 2023-11-03

Hi Guys
I'm running both server and player on my MacBook at the moment. When I play a track locally to my laptop  the "controller bar" that has track name, play/stop forward etc controls pops up at the bottom of the window. But when I cast to my Wiim streamer that controller bar disappears and I have no way to stop the track or see what track is playing. Is there a setting where I can make it stay?
Thanks!

Are you talking about for music?

What is a Wiim Streamer?

Player settings are controlled by the client typically

Yes music only at this point.

What is a Wiim Streamer?
Wiim is the brand name It is an audio DAC/streaming box that connects to an amp to play music. Jellyfin seems to work pretty well with it so far.

Player settings are controlled by the client typically
Wiim has a controller app that can connect to jellyfin but it’s a little clunky that’s why I’m trying to use the jellyfin player. The Jf player has the controls I want to use for music but they disappear quickly and I can’t figure a way to get them back. I’m guessing this is by design for playing video to get the controls out of the way.
It might be that the jf player interface is more geared to serving and playing video than music.

I think I found the answer in a post from 3 years ago on the Jellyfin Reddit forum. What I was calling the controller bar he is calling the play queue or playlist view.
Seems it's been a known issue for awhile.
