Jeellyscrub and Intro skipper taking forever - M0RPH3US - 2023-07-01

I am using these two plugins as stated, but detect introductions, and generating bif files are taking forever and stuck at 0%. The tasks has been running for hours now, and yet no progress.

You would need to contact the developers of those plugins directly if you suspect that there are bugs, but those are not fast processes. It can take many days, even weeks, depending on the size of your library and the speed of your storage.

I've had similar behavior with jellyscrub, first time took a day and a half. It would also get stuck on a percentage. Check if some of the videos in the beginning of your library have the thumbnails.

Best not to run them at the same time as they are both disk intensive and could be trying to access the same drive.

Hey @M0RPH3US

Are they actually doing stuff? When i generated previews for my lib it took over a week to complete. This is a very resource intensive task. Did you enable Hardware acceleration for the jellyscrub plugin? its not enabled by default

From my experience with Jellyscrub, use hardware acceleration, and save the trickplay files with the media, so are then part of the library.

Also depending on the size of the collection jellyscrub takes sometime. A 2TB collection took 3-4 days to create the trick play files. Once they where created and saved it just runs a few minutes a day when new media is added. But as mentioned previously it could also be a file access issue with both trying to read and manipulate the file. Try running them separately but be prepared for jellyscrub to run for a couple days if you have a decent collection before you run the other. Also for intro skipper are you using the confused polar bear version or the one that's been forked that needs the what's it called audio id thingy? Let me know, I'll help how/if I can.
