Media inside of triple nested folders does not display correctly. - JellyfinMan2211 - 2023-07-05 While trying to setup my library, I noticed that triple nested folders do not display as folders in Jellyfin and instead just show the content inside of the folders. This is a huge problem for me because the episodes in the triple nested folders are all clumped together and disorganized. How it is setup in the filesystem. Shows └── AShow └─Folder ├──Folder │ ├──Content1 │ └──Content2 ├──Folder │ ├──Content1 │ └──Content2 └──Folder ├──Content1 └──Content2 How it displays in Jellyfin Shows └── AShow └─Folder ├─Content1 ├─Content1 ├─Content1 ├─Content2 ├─Content2 └─Content2 I want Jellyfin to recognize the triple nested folders and to stop clumping the content together. I have looked through the menus multiple times and have yet to find a solution. RE: Media inside of triple nested folders does not display correctly. - TheDreadPirate - 2023-07-05 The way Jellyfin displays your content is wholly dependent on how it is identified by the metadata source (IMDB, The Movie DB, etc.) using the file and/or folder name. If your content is organized differently than how the online DB(s) organize it, that additional organization will be ignored. One of the shows in my library is NOT organized into seasons on AniDB. And there was no way to properly retrieve metadata with while maintaining season demarcations based on the DVD boxset releases. I'm not sure if that is also what you are experiencing. Out of curiosity, what is each folder layer representing? The folder contains the show itself and some spinoffs. I have all of the TopGear related content inside of a folder because I want to have all of it in one accessible place. I hope this answers your question. RE: Media inside of triple nested folders does not display correctly. - TheDreadPirate - 2023-07-07 Yeah. Jellyfin is not going to automatically organize it the way you have it in the file system. Again, how it organizes your content is wholly dependent on the online DBs. The only way to kind of get it the way you want is to add each Top Gear and spinoff show to a collection. This collection is at the "top level" and won't be nested under "Shows". But this will allow all these shows to be grouped together in this collection, while still showing up under "Shows". RE: Media inside of triple nested folders does not display correctly. - JellyfinMan2211 - 2023-07-08 I will do this then, thank you for your assistance |
