Can 3rd party device access my library? - jellyfish - 2023-07-09 Hi Random question, from privacy perspective, can client device i.e. Apple TV, Amazon Fire, or Smart TV, access/read what content I got in my Jellyfin server libraray ? I don't mean Jellyfin/Swiftfin client app, obviously the app need access/read rights. Thanks. RE: Can 3rd party device access my library? - Venson - 2023-07-09 Hey @jellyfish Short: No Long: Its complicated, but still no-ish? Jellyfin does provide the os with some playback information in the AndriodTV app to display the "Play with Jellyfin" section on your homescreen. Apart from that, we can only speculate what the Exoplayer does with the video data but all in all its only that what we provide, the video data. Jellyfin handles the content data over http so apart from that, JF does not "provide" anything to the underlying operating system. |
