Windows - moving between users - GrantH - 2023-12-02 Good Evening I have an old windows PC thats been running plex and I decided to give Jellyfin a go. I installed and set up the server logged in as myself (local admin account) I have a second standard user account that automatically logs in so that plex was always running. I tried to do the same with Jellyfin but when I start he server as the standard user I am back at the start. Is there a file somewhere in my user profile that I've missed that I need to copy over or do I just need to set it up again on the other account? Thanks Grant RE: Windows - oving between users - TheDreadPirate - 2023-12-03 I would set it up as the other user. I'm on Linux, but my understanding is that where the Jellyfin data directory ends up is different when an admin and standard user installs/runs it. RE: Windows - moving between users - GrantH - 2023-12-03 It looks that way. After starting the server as the user a jellyfin folder appeared in their profile folder. Also when switching back to the admin profile the server asks for the username and password then rejects it so assuming trying to run it as the user account has borked the initial config ☹️ RE: Windows - moving between users - TheDreadPirate - 2023-12-03 It's hard to say without logs. The tray app has an option to show you the log directory. Can a log from both profiles? Assuming they are, in fact, different instances. |
