Dolby Atmos Audio Issues - zlane - 2023-12-22

My setup is the following:

TV:
Sony X80K - 65 inch, Android Smart TV OS Version 10 - Jellyfin App Version 0.16.1
Jellyfin Server 10.8.10

Audio:
eARC HDMI connection to a Sony HT-S2000 Soundbar (3.1) - Dolby Atmos Supported

Since I recently got the sony soundbar I have been trying to update my library to Atmos supported Audio tracks or atleast 5.1 tracks (since I plan to get rear speakers for this setup in the future). This has included my using Handbrake to use a TrueHD passthrough Codec. With that my question is it appears no matter what settings related to audio passthrough or player (Jellyfin, Exoplayer, LibVLC, MXPlayer, Kodi, VLC or even Plex). None of these seem to be passing through the atmos audio into the soundbar, my soundbar according to sony does support TrueHD. I get varying results across each of the players but it seems to be that in every case the audio is being transcoded as EAC3 7.1 from Plex or AAC in the case of Jellyfin.

I am able to play Dolby Atmos audio from Disney+ (as it seems the Codecs and way this is done than it would be for a media server). I know this is a minor thing even though my soundbar doesn't have upfiring speakers but I do like sony's virtual vertical surround setting so I have noticed I like dolby atmos audio more. I've attached a screenshot of the codecs that appear.

My speculation after seeing similar result on Plex even is that something may be going on with Sony TV's? Or is there another way I can encode the audio in handbrake to avoid this TrueHD incompatibility of the TV (I've seen discussions of encoding DD+ rather than TrueHD although I'm not sure what the difference is - any help on maybe encoding the audio under another Atmos supported codec would be great)?

I understand this may be more of a Sony issue but if there is an underlying Jellyfin issue that could let me passthrough TrueHD audio (because even on Exoplayer it seems to not be compatible). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Or if anyone has had similar trouble with Android TVs or Sony TV let me know.

I reckon eARC is set to on.
Is Enhanced format selected in HDMI Settings / HDMI Signal Format ?

RE: Dolby Atmos Audio Issues - zlane - 2023-12-22

Yes to both. eARC only has an Auto setting on Sony TVs though.

EDIT: It seems as though Android TV OS on nearly all TV models are not able to use TrueHD with Atmos lossless. It seems DD+ is the way to achieve this? Is this what I should do to have my audio be "Atmos"?
