Question about Subtitles extraction - xilex - 2023-12-26 Hello, when I watch a new video file with subtitles, there is always a "Downloading additional data..." notification on the screen. And it will take a few minutes before it finishes, and I can see the actual subtitles, as denoted in the log "[21:25:20] [INF] [68] MediaBrowser.MediaEncoding.Subtitles.SubtitleEncoder: ffmpeg subtitle extraction completed for file:"......." to C:\Users\????\AppData\Local\jellyfin\data\subtitles\e\eba925ed-4299-ceb9-1086-68f779d04896.srt". Is there a way to do this manually for an individual file or trigger it for new files that show up on a metadata refresh or monitored? I usually do a metadata refresh on a specific library to have new files show up when I copy them over. Thanks. RE: Question about Subtitles extraction - TheDreadPirate - 2023-12-26 This is on-the-fly subtitle extraction. There is a plugin called "Subtitle Extract" which you can set up to do the subtitle extraction beforehand (run the job in Dashboard > Scheduled Tasks). Subtitle Extract is in the official plugin repo. |
