Adding content remotely - peejay - 2023-12-28 Hi, I have installed JF on a NUC running Linux Mint and it works fine. The NUC is headless, ie no monitor, keyboard etc. I have all my media on a USB drive attached to the NUC. Is there a way to add content to that drive from another computer on the same network? At the moment I have to unplug the drive and take it to the other computer to add or delete media. Thanks. RE: Adding content remotely - TheDreadPirate - 2023-12-28 As long as the drive is mounted and jellyfin has permissions to the folders, you would add your media from the Jellyfin Dashboard. RE: Adding content remotely - peejay - 2023-12-28 Thanks for the reply. Yes the drive is mounted and Jellyfin has permissions to the folders. I am able to play the media from my other devices. I am accessing the dashboard from my WIndows computer OK but I dont see any way to transfer files from this computer up to the NUC, just Scan all libraries, Restart or Shutdown. RE: Adding content remotely - TheDreadPirate - 2023-12-28 Ah. You mean from your current PC to the NUC. Jellyfin has no capability to transfer files. You will either have to setup SMB on your NUC and transfer over the network or plug the USB drive into your PC and transfer to the USB drive. RE: Adding content remotely - peejay - 2023-12-28 OK, thanks for that. |
