Samsung tv stream music - drmacro - 2023-12-29
I searched the forum, but there is not much on Samsung tv's
I have not setup a Jellyfin server as yet. I have a drive with a large music collection.
I would like to be able to access via my Samsung tv.
The TV is not brand new, but a few years old and it is on my local network which would be the same subnet as the server.
I don't think thee is an app on the TV (there is a Plex app and it will connect to Plex which subsequently accesses a Raspberry Pi running Plex. I intend to replace this with Jellyfin.)
What do I need to check on the tv to confirm I can get to the Jellyfin server and stream music?

If it is running Tizen, we have an app you can sideload onto your TV. As long as your TV is on the same LAN, and you can install the Tizen app, that's all you need for a local setup.

So, I need to have a system running Unbuntu, install the tizen dev studio, build it and use their deployment utilities to get on my tv?
Is the tv being tizen 4.0 going to be an issue?

probably but the page doesn't indicate minimum version, you'll just have to try it and find out
