Roku App Playback Issues - obsoleteBITW - 2023-12-29

I have been using the Roku app for streaming my media and it has worked well until recently. It has began loading the media and will stop at exactly 33%. After that it tells me it could not retrieve the media from the server. It will play perfectly on my iPhone through the web player or Swiftfin. I have checked for updates on the Roku app and nothing is available. If I begin playing something on my iPhone and resume it on my Roku TV, the playback will be seamless until the episode or movie is over. I am just so confused as to what could be going on with this and was wondering if anyone else has been using the Roku app and has had issues recently.

Can you also check on the Roku if there is an OS update?

The Roku is fully up to date. A fire stick and Apple TV is working as well. The Roku is the only system with issues

What Roku OS are you on and what is your exact model? Did Roku stop supporting that model?

Roku OS - 12.5.0 build 4176-CH
Model - Hisense Model 6Series-58

I see Jellyfin on the Roku is version 2.0 build 0

So recently I have still been having the issue with the Roku TV not working. To be able to stream my media I began using a fire stick on the same TV. It began working well with the fire stick until recently. Some titles that were able to play are now unable to play. I began having issues with being able to fast forward/rewind and skip chapters. This issue is now no longer just contained to the fire stick, but also my iPhone as well and both of my Roku TV’s are still completely unusable.

what are you using for a server?

A Raspberry Pi 4 running CasaOS. Everything has worked well until this past weekend and the server has been rendered almost completely useless.

Most SBCs use low powered chipsets, often with less than ideal driver support from the chipset vendors. They are generally too slow for a good experience and/or have broken hardware acceleration support. Please avoid using SBCs such as Raspberry Pis (Including newer Raspberry Pi 5 Models) to run Jellyfin.

I saw this previously after I created the server. I understand that all user's have a different experience even if they have the same hardware. I personally have had no issues at all and have not tinkered with any settings. I have had a great experience with my Pi and Jellyfin until a couple days ago, so there has to be some type of issue beyond the hardware I am using.
