Announcing JellyBook Version 1.3.0 - Kara-Zor-El - 2024-01-01

Hi y'all. I'm so sorry for how long this update took. I was going through a lot of stuff including it being exam season and getting sick a few times. I worked really hard on the features in this update and am really proud to present the edit screen for eBooks:

check it out here: https://github.com/JellyBookOrg/JellyBook/releases/tag/v1.3.0

for those of you who don't know, JellyBook is a eReader and AudioBook app that integrates with your Jellyfin Server (note: this is not by the Jellyfin team and is managed by me, Kara (a member of the community))

New Features
- New display system for description of entries (now more aligned with markdown)
- New edit screen to allow you to edit you book locally or globally
- Added wave progress bar for download screen
- along with so much more

Cool! thank you very much, i downloaded the arm64.apk and installed on my OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G without issues, from there i had a bit difficulties, im legally blind, why i use Talkback (Screen reader for Android) and the fields to enter URL, username and password has some weird text, but i got thru the connect page and found the refresh and log out buttons which both need alternative text.

I would recommend the app to use system language by default and not english. I have been on weblate and belive i have come with a few translations suggestions for danish, but i am not sue because i was not able to add my translations same way as i normally would.

Else i do not have any content in the app, so im just curious how to do that? I have both music and book libaries on my Jellyfin server, but either show up?

A last thing related to the app is that my on screen overview, home and back is hidden when opening the JellyBook app, i would recommend that those buttons on screen still was there + the top status bar with time, Wi-Fi, battery etc.

Least but not last, i will recommend you to add JellyBook to the F-droid app store project

Hi,
I can look into the usage of screen readers, navigating and such as well as by default using the local language when possible (I didn't at first since it was originally in English only and it made 0 sense to do so). I'm not sure about there being 0 content on the app as it should have fetched it from your server. if that issue persists upon restart I'd ask you make a bug report on the github so i can take a further look into it and ask for requested details. In regards to the point about the status and nav bars not showing, I will take a look. Finally, JellyBook has been on the F-Droid store for quite a bit now using the IzzyOnDroid repo. I am hopefully adding official F-Droid support at some point when I get motivation to do so.

Best, Kara
