Is there a way to direct stream different qualities instead of transcoding? - Gary Windfeild - 2024-01-03 Hello, I have had a lot of trouble getting jellyfin to transcode HEVC, which all of my devices and clients can handle. Is there a way I can instead transcode the video prior and then direct stream the different qualities? When I tried this before the movies showed up as separate and not as the same one. Surely there is a way to have either a quality selector to chose a different file in player or at least have them show up as the same movie and then ask you what file you want. Thanks. I know that live transcoding would save space but I have plenty and I have a limited upload speed so I feel this is the better option for me. Thank you for submitting! Jellyfin 10.9 will support versions for shows, but there is no ETA on that release. |
