Subtitle offset chromecast remote control - jbg - 2024-01-04

I may be missing something obvious, in that case I am sorry. I have tried to search Google, the old subreddit and the forum but found no matching topics.

I use the latest Jellyfin app on an Android phone (OnePlus 5T) in order to cast to my Chromecasts around the house. In the app I am able to use subtitle offsetting by tapping the "settings" cog during playback. However, when I am in the "remote control" mode while casting the media to a Chromecast, there is no such option anywhere to be found. Is this simply not an available feature?

Hoping I am just blind and/or stupid, since I generally have to offset subtitles 75% of the time in order to have a good watching experience.

Thanks in advance!

settings like subtitle offset are a client side (video player) setting, when you are streaming you are not the client, the device receiving it is

the receiving client on the tv would need to set the offset, im guessing in this case it's a DLNA client or some such built into the chromecast?

Casting in Jellyfin is just not a great experience and a lot of options you set in the client don't apply to casted streams.
