Continue Watching via DLNA not working - CleanAsAWhistle - 2024-01-04 New User here. I Installed latest Jellyfin on Windows 10 today. Added 15TB NAS libraries for Film and TV and exposed these via DLNA so I can watch on various LG TVs around the house. Everything works fine but if I stop watching a Film/TV programme I am unable to see any entry in Continue Watching. I’ve posted below a similar(unanswered) question which was put on Reddit before that was closed. My situation is exactly the same FWIW - I’ve been running Plex since 2008 but it just gets more bloated which is why I thought I’d try Jellyfin as a more lightweight (and local) solution. So, is ‘continue watching’ supported via a DLNA Client? If so, is there anything I need to do to enable it (I tried search in this forum and there’s nothing in the Docs as far as I can see). I was wondering if ‘continue watching’ was associated with a logged in user whilst DLNA uses no logged in user. (BTW Plex does support ‘continue watching’ via DLNA but I like the idea of Jellyfin). Thanks in advance RE: Continue Watching via DLNA not working - TheDreadPirate - 2024-01-04 Jellyfin updates watch status and playback tracking via updates from the client, which DLNA doesn't do. It appears Plex does watch status/playback tracking server side for DLNA. https://support.plex.tv/articles/200350536-dlna/ RE: Continue Watching via DLNA not working - CleanAsAWhistle - 2024-01-04 That’s a shame. I guess I’ll be sticking with Plex for now as that really is, for me, an essential feature. Thanks for your response. |
