Search Libraries Using Metadata - joram467467 - 2024-01-05

I've been getting into the habit of tagging my music with a YouTube ID and I'd like to know if I can search for my music using those IDs. I would add them to the audio using the details tab in File Explorer.

Eg.
Persona 4 Specialist
Subtitle: fTczCplaLAU

(Yes that is the ID for the video)
ID like to know if I can search for things in Jellyfin using any of the built in file Explorer or even the Jellyfin Metadata like tags.

You say you are tagging music but then you give an example of a video.

What media are you working with?

How are you tagging these files?

I understand that I stated music and then used a video; I reference some of my songs with videos.
I'm working with audio like mp3, m4a and ogg for my music library and I tag some of them with references (like YouTube video IDs) where applicable.
I would download the songs and then look for a video or song on YouTube related to it and if so save the ID of that YouTube video as the subtitle for that song using the File Explorer "Details" tab.

To reiterate and correct my question, I would like to know if there is a way to search using metadata tags such as subtitles; and if there is a way to search using those tags is it possible to create one exclusively for JellyFin.

PS. Apologies I took over a year to get back to you.

Tag searching was added in 10.9, but removed in 10.10 due to massive performance issues. You'd have to use an external application, like Jellysearch, to do tag searching.
