Reset password on Jellyfin - jngolds2 - 2024-01-07

I keep trying to reset my Jellyfin password however I get the following message "Forgot Password Please try again within your home network to initiate the password reset process." I'm not sure what this means. Does anyone know how I can reset my password using an iMac. Thanks.

Are you on the same network as your jellyfin server?

Yes I am.

Stop Jellyfin, find system.xml in Jellyfin's config directory. I don't know where that is on MacOS. In that file near the top is "IsSetupWizardComplete". Change that from true to false. Start jellyfin.

I have the same problem; however my "isSetupWizardComplete" is already set to FALSE.

I'm also having this issue, and my "isSetupWizardComplete" is FALSE, but restarting the service hasn't done anything.  I've wiped the config folder multiple times, too, but I still have no way of getting in or resetting the password.

EDIT: I was able to get back to the installation wizard by appending /web/#/wizardstart.html to the server's address.
