Chromecast App - BronzeMaster5000 - 2024-01-08

I am currently switching from Plex to Jellyfin and i was wondering how good the implementation is on the Chromecast.
I am thinking of buying a Chromecast 4k.
Is there maybe a better streaming device for my Samsung TV?

I'm assuming you mean the Chromecast with Google TV. If so, I have two CCwGTV 4K's and I am pretty happy with it as a Jellyfin client. But I also don't have fancy audio setups on my TVs.

A couple people here said they prefer the Nvidia shield because it handles audio better when connected to a fancy receiver.

if you want a real media player that actually plays everything, Zidoo Z9X Pro with the jellyfin zidoo fork https://github.com/Andy2244/jellyfin-androidtv-zidoo
(yes, it's more expensive but you didn't ask about cheapest you asked for best)

I use Chromecast Ultra 4k, since you have a Samsung TV, im curious if it's not a smart tv? I think Jellyfin has a client for those?

Else i use my Chromecast Ultra 4k and have a Samsung soundbar (optical) and it plays great.

there's your answer OP, this user doesn't even have his sound equipment connected in a way that supports Atmos or DTS-HD
(optical doesn't work with those)
