Jellyfin "SERVER" on Android? - tmsrxzar - 2024-01-12 Recently I have been rebuilding and re-evaluating my home theater setup which is involving replacing devices and re-configuring how things are accessed. In that, I am replacing Android+Kodi+JF for Kodi clients in favor of utilizing my Tizen TVs for streaming apps such as Hulu, Disney+ which eliminates having to ensure my Android devices are L1 certified. Now I am able to utilize player devices that are better suited for owned media from jellyfin, namely Zidoo+Zidoo fork for JF I have found the Zidoo to be quite capable, so much so in fact that it can actually run the Emby "Server" for Android as well as being it's own client, which means I can run a single Zidoo in my Home Theater setup which serves it's media to the other TVs in my home via the Tizen app Downsides I'm not an Emby fan The Emby Client for Zidoo isn't very good I'm not a premiere member so I get nags on the Tizen clients Finally my questions are Is there a fork of the Jellyfin SERVER that runs on Android like Emby has, if not is there a plan to have it? Is the Jellyfin Tizen App usable currently on 2023+ Tizen TVs (7.0+), if not then is there a plan to update? In my current state of flux I can easily switch something back to android but it just changes how I do something else. Thanks for reading, I did attempt to google but any attempt to search google for "jellyfin"+"android"+"server" just brings up the clients and it ignores the word server entirely. As far as I know there is no fork for Jellyfin to run on Android. There is no plan to ever create one.
