Use collections as categories in the main menu - harrenkyym - 2024-01-16 After suggesting an improvement of the main menu with something dinamic like the most popular today: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-most-popular-today I think it would be awesome if we could use our own collections as a category in the main menu. That way we could make for example a "Christmas" category, "Best basketball documentaries", "Motorsport documentaries", "Movies with Best Picture award", "Underrated movies", etc. The horizontal sidebar would show maybe 10-15 movies, but the title of the category would take you to the collection where you could see every movie on it. And what would be even cooler? That we could program when would the category show up in the main menu: - Christmas from 15/11 to 07/01 -in Spain we finish it that day! - Superbowl time (every american football movie) from 15/01 to 15/02 - etc. And even cooler if we could select which users will see the category (my mother doesn't care abour american football movies and my brothers doesn't care about Christmas movies). That it's giving me another idea. For example, let's imagine that Nolan (you know, a great director whose movies are very anticipated, a lot of hype) is launching his movie next july. It would be awesome if we could use Nolan movie films as a category for the main menu and fucking awesome if we could also have the option to program it 1 month before the release of the movie. The same for Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, etc. Use people filmograhies as categories in the index. So cool... (afaik the feature request section of this forum only serves to discuss those added there) |
