Feature Request: Explicit Movie Permissions for Specific Users - BoBBer446 - 2024-01-17 Hello Jellyfin Community, I am interested in a feature that would allow for more granular control over movie access for individual users. The idea is to move away from a blocklist approach and instead implement a whitelist system. For example, I'd like to specifically permit a 12-year-old child to watch only movies tagged with "Cohen" (the child's name). This feature would provide a more tailored viewing experience and ensure appropriate content filtering based on individual needs. Looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions. Best regards RE: Feature Request: Explicit Movie Permissions for Specific Users - tmsrxzar - 2024-01-17 https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-please-read-before-posting-please-send-new-feature-requests-to-fider what's the link to your corresponding feature request on features.jellyfin.org ? RE: Feature Request: Explicit Movie Permissions for Specific Users - TheDreadPirate - 2024-01-17 That is not currently possible in 10.8. Don't recall if 10.9 will have this. The way I handle my kid's library is to create a separate library for them and then use symlinks to approved content so I'm not duplicating data. RE: Feature Request: Explicit Movie Permissions for Specific Users - BoBBer446 - 2024-01-17 @TheDreadPirate The symbolic links are a good idea. Unfortunately, this rules out the possibility of my wife spontaneously sharing movies with the children. Nevertheless, I will familiarize myself with this method ![]() @tmsrxzar Thank you for hint ![]() https://features.jellyfin.org/posts/2542/whitelist-based-movie-access-control-for-individual-users |
