Problem transcoding 4k HEVC with gtx 1050 ti - B0bby31 - 2024-01-18

Hello,

I am running a jellyfin server in an lxc container on a proxmox host. I have succesfully (it seems) passthroughed my gtx 1050 ti to the container and enable transcoding with the following settings: enabled all decoding except AV1, VP8 and enabled the 3 encoding settings. I am running jellyfin 10.8.13.
The issue is as follows whenever I start watching a 4k movie the transcoding is initially working in the dashboard I can see the FPS, the media plays fine and the logs show nothing abnormal. However, as soon as I get about 3 mins into the movie, the transcoding stops, it cannot be seen with nvidia-smi and the media just stops. This happens if you get to this cutoff by watching or scrolling. See attached docs for the ffmpeg log. Note that this oddly does not happen with 1080p HEVC. When I force a transcode for these shows, it works very well and allows scrolling. I have tried this with multiple 4k movies and keep on running into the issue, the main observation I can make from the log is the following: [matroska, webm @ 0x5617f56e7880] File ended prematurely.

Thank you for your help!

Are you running out of disk space? Transcodes are written to disk.

I increased the disk space to 48 gb from 8 and still am running into the same problem

After looking into it further, it seems some of my media files are simply corrupted, so it is not a transcoding issue.
