Casting audio from movie to Sonos loudspeakers - filaton - 2024-01-29
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out whether it's possible to achieve the following scenario: I have
- a Raspberry Pi hosting Jellyfin
- a Sonos One loudspeaker (i.e. without line input)
- a Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector, running Android TV (i.e. from which I can access the Jellyfin app)
My goal ultimately would be to be able to watch a movie on the projector (using the Jellyfin Android TV app), with the movie coming from Jellyfin and the sound being streamed to the Sonos speaker.
Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup?
So far, I tried the following: I can watch a movie on my laptop (on the web version of Jellyfin) and choose to cast it to my Sonos loudspeaker, which doesn't actually work but at least the option is there. On the projector, I don't even see the option to cast the audio to the loudspeaker.

AFAIK, there is no way to do this. Syncplay might be an option, but it requires that every device uses a client that supports syncplay (web and Jellyfin Media Player).
