Support jellyfin server 10.9.0 (unstable) - Ice - 2023-06-19

is there a plan to fix the issue on amazon FireTV Stick 4K: cannot login.
on the other side i assume that everything is correct set up because access with the FireTV Stick 4K Browser Silk works but this is a pain.

Hey! If I had to guess as a non-Jellyfin Server, non-Android dev I guess say that something has likely changed on the API side (likely auth/formatting??). Reading through what is pulled into 10.9, there are several potential culprits. That being said, they will likely have this working and resolved around the time of the first 10.9 beta. I would submit an issue with Jellyfin Server logs (hopefully they detail the exact reason you can’t access the server) on the Jellyfin Android GitHub. Although, I wouldn’t expect a quick turnaround as Supporting an unstable branch as a dev sounds like more hassle than it’s worth. It’s good to keep it on their radar but I would rollback to 10.8.10 for now until the betas begin.

In the interim you could try a third party app like Findroid!

I hope this helps!

The Android TV app (version 0.15.10) works fine with the master branch of the server. Tested with demo.jellyfin.org/unstable.

RE: Support jellyfin server 10.9.0 (unstable) - Ice - 2023-06-20

I will give demo.jellyfin.org/unstable a try.
-> Today I tested demo.jellyfin.org/unstable and everything went fine as espected.
My own jellyfinserver may be configured different because the app cannot connect due to a SSL-Handshake failure. According to general recommendations, I have activated TLS 1.3. presumably that is where the problem lies. That's why there are no log entries on the Jellyfin server...

In order to have more clarity about the content of this thread, it would be necessary to rename it. I just don't know how to formulate it in a concise way so that the problem is better understood.
