Jellyfin on Samsung Refrigerator - denbartman - 2024-02-16 Hi, I have a Samsung Refrigerator running Tizen 6. I connect to Jellyfin via the Samsung Web Browser. Jellyfin 10.8.13 is installed on a Windows PC. In the device list the device is recognised as: Samsung Smart TV - Jellyfin Web 10.8.13. VP9 files get transcoded to h264. (OK) (Transcode log is created) h264 files play in direct mode. (OK) AV1 files give a black screen. They seem to crash the browser. (No Transcode log is created) It looks like Jellyfin thinks AV1 can be played in direct mode. (I guess as the device is labeled 'Samsung Smart TV' Jellyfin assumes the fridge has the same capabilities than an Samsung TV) Anyone know how to fix this? RE: Jellyfin on Samsung Refrigerator - Tim - 2024-02-16 Since when do refrigerators have these capabilities lmao You can try to force Jellyfin to transcode by lowering the max bitrate upload or perhaps by setting in the webclient playback settings a very low video quality capability. I have not tested the latter option myself. Though watching videos one a fridge seems like an uncomfortable setup. While you're standing, the screen may not be at your head level, and the screen will probably always point at a 90 degree angle from the floor. You would have to position a short table in front of it and make sure no one sits in front of you blocking the view.
