Changing Media Types Within Same Library - Horrordoc - 2024-02-24

I have three different media libraries: Shows, Films, and Anime. The issue I'm having is that within my anime library I also have films. When Jellyfin scans for metadata it recognizes the films but places arbitrary season numbers and folders within them. For example, with Ghost in the Shell the server will recognize the iMDB tag but won't update images and the film is listed as being part of "season 19."

With that, is there any way to switch individual media files type within a library (i.e. show to film)?

Short answer: No. Mixed libraries are not well supported to begin with and are strongly discouraged. Movies should be in a movies library and shows in a shows library.

I, and it seems a lot of other people here, keep our Anime separate from our western shows. So our setups looks something like this in terms of libraries.

Movies (non-Anime movies)
Anime Movies
TV shows (non-Anime shows)
Anime

Thanks for the quick response! That's an easy enough fix at least.
