Unable to add libraries in Ubuntu - mm_ofg - 2023-06-19

I am configuring jellyfin in Ubuntu 22.04. When I try to add libraries this is the error "The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again." popping up. Searched and tried few available solutions but nothing worked. Please help.

Add details.

Where are the files, is it mounted remotely (if so, how), how if JF running (local install, proxmox, docker, add compose/run file), who owns the files, etc.

Ideally the files are not in /home as JF will probably not run as the same user.

Also, this will probably be moved to the Troubleshooting section ;-)

Local install but the libraries I am trying to add is in the /home directory. So this is the problem as @Xanohel stated. Please advice where should I create the library folders. I am new to this. Thanks

Sure.

/home is really for _user_ data and jellyfin runs more like a service application not as a "user program".

If you have your data locally, speaking on the same device, i would recommend /media/TV or /media/Movies and if its an external mount its traditionally under /mnt/devicename/TV and so on
