Re-muxing in WebOS app - doncarlos - 2024-02-26 Hi! I switched from a Samsung TV to a LG C9 OLED (WebOS 4.9) recently. I installed the WebOS app to the TV from the Github repo (https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-webos). I'm running Jellyfin (10.8.13) in docker on a vm under Proxmox. With the Samsung TV there were no problems/issues with the Tizen client. Now when I start watching a video file with the app on the TV it starts re-muxing which is not really working and I only hear the audio or have other problems. I noticed a big jump in I/O delay in Proxmox when re-muxing starts which can be the cause of the problems. This could originate from some mistake from my end putting together the virtualization setup but since I don't have any problems with direct playing and didn't have any with the Tizen client I now want to focus getting the app direct playing (if possible). Since I read that the app is really just a wrapper around the web player I opened Jellyfin with the TV's browser, when I start the same video everything working fine, there is no re-muxing or other issues. I attached two screenshots playing the same video, one is with the app and the other is the browser. You can see with the browser it is direct playing. I checked the settings in the app but could not find anything what can fix this. Is there a specific reason for this or can I change some setting somewhere to get rid of the re-muxing in the app? RE: Re-muxing in WebOS app - TheDreadPirate - 2024-02-26 Are these files in different containers? MKV vs MP4? RE: Re-muxing in WebOS app - doncarlos - 2024-02-26 I'm playing the exact same video file in both screenshots, the container is MKV. RE: Re-muxing in WebOS app - TheDreadPirate - 2024-02-26 Ah. So same video, one screenshot is Tizen the other WebOS? It might be a limitation of WebOS 4.9, which is out of date. 6 is the latest, IIRC? Are there any WebOS updates available for your TV? RE: Re-muxing in WebOS app - doncarlos - 2024-02-26 No, I'm using the same TV. One screenshot is with the webos app other is the built-in webos browser on the TV. There is no WebOS 6 for the C9 OLED (it's 4 years old), my unit is running the latest FW available. |
