Server stuck partway through initial setup; cannot remove and reset on macOS - plgagne - 2024-03-14

I tried months ago to start a Jellyfin server. I abandoned partway through the process. The server was initialized, but I never logged into the server. I then uninstalled Jellyfin.

Now I'm trying again to make it work, but even by following the Jellyfin uninstall steps for macOS to the letter, anytime I start Jellyfin, I am completely unable to get the initial setup. I am always brought back to a login screen, which I presume is for the server I abandoned months ago, for which I do not have a login nor a password, and which I cannot get rid of, because I never logged into that server.

What should I do? Like I said, I have gone through multiple attempts at deleting everything remotely related to Jellyfin by following the uninstall steps for macOS.

Make sure you delete the previous data directories

Our docs say they are in these locations (I don't have a Mac to confirm).

~/.config/jellyfin/
~/.local/share/jellyfin/
