Can't ge to Movies on second drive - notepro - 2024-03-16 I am setting up jellyfin on ubuntu 22.04. I have a secondary drive with all my movies on it and it's mounted. When setting up the library, the path to that mounted drive will not work. It says Path doesn't exist if I type it in manually. If I go through /media/<My Name>/ it won't show me anything after it (the path is /media/<My Name>/Media/Movies.) Please help. Thanks. RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - TheDreadPirate - 2024-03-16 Sounds like you are letting Ubuntu auto mount them. The default parameters are pretty restrictive and are probably preventing the Jellyfin user from accessing them. The best option is to unmount this auto mount and then manually mount it in /etc/fstab. Just don't mount it in your home directory. Then you can give Jellyfin ownership of this new path. RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - notepro - 2024-03-16 I know that Ubuntu doesn't auto mount it, I right click on the drive and choose Mount. Is that what you mean? I read one of your old posts about using UUID in /etc/fstab to mount the drive. My drive is formatted in NTFS, I am not sure if that matters. It definitely matters. Thanks. RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - TheDreadPirate - 2024-03-16 Why not /media/library or something shorter. /media/<user name>/Media/movies seems unnecessarily long. RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - notepro - 2024-03-16 I am fine with that. I thought it needed to follow the route on the actual drive. RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - notepro - 2024-03-16 If I use the mount as /media/library, because my drive is ntfs, what would my fstab look like? Thanks RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - TheDreadPirate - 2024-03-16 I re-read the link I sent in a prior post and realized I sent the wrong one. This one. https://askubuntu.com/questions/113733/how-to-mount-a-ntfs-partition-in-etc-fstab Code: UUID=EEA2B69CA2B668AB /media/library ntfs-3g defaults,nls=utf8,umask=000,dmask=027,fmask=137,uid=1000,gid=1000,windows_names 0 0 Replace the UUID with the correct one. RE: Can't ge to Movies on second drive - notepro - 2024-03-16 Thank you so much, I will try this. |
