no access if client started during scheduled recording - davy - 2024-03-16

I use current server 10.8.13 and client jellyfin media player 1.9.1.  If I start player after server has started scheduled recording, cannot access main functions like live TV, guide, recordings.  Circular wait symbol stays in middle of those screens.  It can still access side panel settings.  Same thing happens using web browser as client.  It does not happen if client is already running when scheduled recording starts.  Access remains if stopped and restarted during recording.

Can you share your jellyfin logs with us via sourcebin or pastebin?

After last post, I tried to reproduce problem and was surprised no more problem! My guess is by starting a recording, stopping and restarting client while server recording, somehow flipped a code switch that had been stuck. That was something I had not tried while had the problem last couple of weeks. I'll post again if problem comes back.

Problem came back. I scheduled recording 8-9am, turned on computer/server at 8:25, started client at 8:48, no access. During recording, I could watch video file with VLC. After recording done, 9:08 started client and normal access.

Are you trying to access the recording while it is still recording?
