Do I need a gfx card if I have a good enough cpu? - sisu - 2024-03-17
I am upgrading my Jellyfin server and it will have an i5-9600k, I believe the documents said that it can handle everything except AV1 and that's fine.
However, my current/old server uses a Quandro P400 + i7-4770k. Do I even need the P400 anymore? or the new i5-9600k should be able to do everything my old setup can and more?

I'm not sure about "more" than the P400. In terms of codec support they are about the same. But Quick Sync can probably achieve slightly better quality for the same bit rate for that generation of NVENC. And you save on power.
