Back to Jellyfin - dixonge - 2024-03-19 First, I should say, back to a media server. Taking back control, cutting off the never-ending subscriptions. Previously used Plex/Emby/Jellyfin, so generally familiar. Initial setup was Jellyfin, but didn't have a Samsung TV app in the store, so tried Emby. Got it all set up, couldn't play crap. Tried app on FireTV as well. Log full of errors. Finally gave up, loaded up Jellyfin, installed app on FireTV. Boom. Hit play. Ladies and gentlemen, it just played... Me <<------ happy camper MacOS Sonoma latest Samsung TV a couple of years old. FireTV Stick (2nd Gen) RE: Back to Jellyfin - Marek Schling - 2024-04-02 I have cancelled my Plex subscription. Recently I experienced problems with some of my videos which Plex couldn't play but Jellyfin could without any issues. RE: Back to Jellyfin - DevilSShadoW - 2024-04-22 same here, plex refused to play a very basic netflix rip. Very strange. RE: Back to Jellyfin - FactoriedMyAuth - 2024-04-22 It takes a few tools but you can do a compile on your computer, activate dev mode on your Samsung TV, and push the app to your TV over your local network. I think it took about an hour for me to figure out. I now have a Jelly Fin instance native on the TV. |
