Remote acces to jellyfin - Voelepater - 2023-07-30

Hi. I have setup jellyfin along with some other apps running on a Raspberry Pi 4. I want to use a VPN on the Pi for privacy reasons, but this VPN (Mullvad) doesn't support port forwarding anymore.
I would like to be able to access the media server remotely, is it possible to set this up and also keep the VPN on? I've looked into Tailscale a bit but I am not sure if that works on top of Mullvad.

Thanks,

How do you have things set up? Just installed straight on the OS? In docker or another virtualization platform? This makes a difference. For instance, with docker, you can run a VPN container, route all your sensitive apps through there, serve Jellyfin locally, and run another Wireguard container to allow you to VPN back into your network from remote locations to access without issues.

The other route you can go is split tunneling your traffic, which can become a headache pretty quickly, but is doable.
