Https encryption - TheOne9196 - 2024-03-30

I am using a pivpn vpn to connect to my raspberry pi where Jellyfin is hosted. I can't bind pivpn to my vpn (ProtonVPN) (if anyone might know how to do this I would be very grateful).

1st question : since my Jellyfin server is hosted on the raspberry pi i'm connecting to, will my isp see what i am streaming? My idea was that if it's only on my lan, and i'm just connecting to the lan through pivpn, my isp won't see anything.

2nd question : If my isp can see what i'm streaming, how could I encrypt my jellyfin server to use https or ssl? What is the easiest way?

Thanks in advance.

Why are you using a VPN on LAN? Your ISP can't see anything that doesn't exit your network. If they could that would be a massive lawsuit.

Also, one of THE points of a VPN is that everything is encrypted. So, no, your ISP can't see your traffic if you are accessing it remotely. Using a VPN negates the need to setup https.
