[HELP] How to seperate TV Show seasons by video quality? - SandwormSlayer - 2024-04-05

I've recently downloaded both 1080p and 4K versions of The Bear, Season 2 as my server specs aren't where I need them to be to provide tolerable transcoding performance. I currently have my folder structure set to the following: /Media/TV Shows/The Bear (2022) with the 1080p folder being called Season 02 and the 4K folder being called Season 02 - 4K.

Despite them being in separate folders, this seems to be causing both versions to be mixed together under Season 2 within Jellyfin with both episode types showing side by side, looking exactly the same (i.e. Episode 1 1080p is right next to Episode 1 4K with no way to tell them apart without looking at the video info).

Is it possible to separate TV show seasons by their video quality? If so, what should I do differently to achieve that? I tried to see if I could find anything in the official shows naming convention link that can be found in the documentation, but this didn't seem to have any section focused on this specific scenario. Any help would be much appreciated.

10.8.X does not support "versions" of a show in the same way that it does for movies. But it does support having both episodes listed separately, but it requires a particular structure. One of the other mods/devs wrote up a guide here.
