Adding OMV Drives via Jellyfin LXC Container on Proxmox - BingoBango - 2024-04-07

Hi there,

I've setup an LXC container for Jellyfin on Proxmox and also have a VM running OpenMediaVault on Proxmox.

I am stuck at the point of sharing drives (currently accessible via OMV) into Jellyfin.

From what I've read I need to share the drive via a NFS service in OpenMediaVault and make it accessible to the Proxmox client (which I've done).

Apparently next step is to add the virtual drive on mnt/pve/Elements in Proxmox and add the mnt with pct set to pct set xxx -mp0 /mnt/pve/Elements,mp=/elements,shared=1 (with xxx being the several numbers for the container).

And then what is the link that gets shared for the drive into the Jellyfin setup?

Is that right and can anyone advise on how to achieve this in Proxmox?

Thanks!

Is the mount not showing up in the Jellyfin LXC? Or is it showing up but Jellyfin doesn't have permissions to it?

I'm not sure how to mount it so as to allow me to paste a link into the Jellyfin UI for setting up a library.

Is there a guide at all for what I'm trying to do?

For that kind of question, you'd probably be better served by asking on the OMV forum.

TLDR; mount the network share to OMW/Debian via /etc/fstab. The path that you mount it to you would pass to the Jellyfin LXC.

That's the gist of the process. I don't know the specific of passing a path into a LXC.
