Hello, firs, thank you to the team this is a great software.
Is it Jellyfin that does this or is it Chromecast for Google TV:
when I press pause, the screen dims, I know that if I then press the Back button, the toolbar disappears and the screen returns to normal.
Is there a way to NOT have this behaviour, in other words, show the toolbar but no dim.

Are you using the Android TV app or casting to the TV?

Sorry for the delay in answering your question, life happened...
I am using Jellyfin with Google TV Chromecast (both models, HD and 4K) so that makes it Android TV.
I have tried several streaming options like VLC and streaming apps and VLC does not DIM but Jellyfin does while others do it differently.
I think it comes from overlay the "HeadsUp display" when hitting the pause button
