Metadata/TMDB - Forest Lam - 2024-04-16

<edit>
rewording the whole thing

is there a way to 1. turn off folder thumbnails and 2. remove all plugins?

i dont like folder thumbnails

as for the plugins, they keeps getting wrong thumbnails and titles from else where for videos that already have complete metadata and thumbnail for display
</edit>

Hello, I have some simple questions about the app, did a simple search and nothing came up

For one, how can i turn off folder thumbnails?

And two, how did the app find metadatas for your files?
Jellyfin for some reason determines my kairiki bear volcaloid to be some lady gaga stuff
And a few japanese titled song also
The original media file had filled metadatas
titles artist owner creation date and everything
Checking the metadata in-app, it appears to overwrite the title column with the lady gaga thing

Is there a global default library settings?
Disabling imdb linking in library settings might work
but the bad file couldve also been indexed before i can disable them

Disabling all plugins may work also but couldnt figured a way out

There's also a runtimeconfig in the app folder but im not finding documentation for that file either

I apologize if im not being a good user
The app has been perfect
self host simple interface decent encoding supports
was a bit frustrated after almost throwing up seeing lady gaga
(no offense to her she might be a cool guy)
i may not have been a good troubleshooter since then, sorry for overlooks
Thanks
Ah also apologies for such a bad read
Havent been sleeping for so many hours

TMDB does not provide metadata for Youtube videos. Jellyfin does not have a metadata provider for youtube videos by default, but there are 3rd party plugins for this.

Alright thanks, but how do i remove the plugins?
<Edit>
The default plugins are likely the ones messing up my files
So i actually want them remove

RE: Metadata/TMDB - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-16

You can't remove them, but if you go into the library settings you can disable them for this particular library.

RE: Metadata/TMDB - Forest Lam - 2024-04-16

Do you mean the toggleable options in dashboard/library/[three dot]/manage library ?
I click them all off and did a "reload all metadata", restart server, redo but the wrong titles and thumbnails still persists
as info, those media actually support and have their correct titles and thumbnails by themselves
<edit>
titles not file names
as in the title metadata in exif
</edit>

RE: Metadata/TMDB - Forest Lam - 2024-04-16

It shouldnt be taking this much effort just to get the app to load data that i have right...

RE: Metadata/TMDB - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-16

I misread your first post. I didn't notice that you had embedded metadata. I don't have access to my Jellyfin at the moment, but I think there might be an option to use embedded metadata. I'm not sure that is available in all library types, though. I'll double check when I get home.

RE: Metadata/TMDB - Forest Lam - 2024-04-16

alright
really appreciate the help
your misread is probably on me tho sorry

RE: Metadata/TMDB - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-17

Looking around the settings and I must be thinking about "Prefer embedded titles over filenames". But I don't think that does what you are asking about.

What library type are you using? If you are using the Shows or Movies library, I don't think you'll be able to do what you are asking. But I do think that the Music Videos library type will do what you need.

RE: Metadata/TMDB - Forest Lam - 2024-04-17

Photos seems to works perfectly in the end
Nothing is pulled from external servers anymore
Thanks for the suggestion

As for folder thumbnails, do you have any idea?
everytime the folder is refreshed a new image pops up
i prefer to not have any thumbnail at all and navigate through text
its such a simple feature
if it actually isnt included i may try a pull request or sth when i have the time
