Single episode showing up in multiple seasons - leNnard-808 - 2024-04-17

For some reason, I have random episodes appearing in the wrong season. E.g.:
The episode "S05E34" only exists in the "Season 05" folder. However, it is also appearing in Season 6. When I edit the "duplicate" metadata, it does have the correct info but still shows up in the wrong season.
I triple-checked the naming, and provided the proper TVDB season IDs. I simply don't know how to solve this.

The picture shows a screengrab of Season 6, with episodes 34 and 37 from Season 5 randomly in the beginning. The same thing happens to other seasons as well. E.g. 2 random episodes from season 6 appear at the beginning of season 7.

Edit: Season 7 shows Episode 44, and 47 from Season 6. Interestingly, its the only ones ending with "4" and "7".

What is the file name for this rogue episode?

Can you give examples of folder names and folder structure?

I followed the docs during every step of setting it up:

Folder structure is shows--> Spongebob Squarepants --> Season XX ... --> SXXEXX
For this specific example, the file name is S05E34, and S05E37, which are both ONLY present in the "Season 05" folder. I made sure to double-check for any duplicates.

They show up exactly where they should be in Season 5, but additionally at the start of Season 6.

The metadata is fetched from TVdb which, when sorted in DVD order, is exactly like my file structure. And it works without any issues for all the prior seasons, with the same structure.

I see that your metadata is in German. I wonder if that is part of the problem. Another user had issues with metadata retrieval in Dutch. Switching to English "resolved" the problem. Not ideal.

Try this.

Switching to TMDB instead of TVDB. TMDB has the German DVD order as an alternate ordering. I'm assuming you configured Sponge Bob to use the DVD ordering under "Edit Metadata". Then rescan and replace all metadata.

If that doesn't work, just for testing switch your metadata language to English.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Honestly, by now I have tried countless different configurations, and names, creating new libraries, it is hard for me to keep track of what I've tried, so I won't go into too much detail. Even when switching to English I encountered similar issues.

However, I just created a new library from scratch, renamed the folder to the German show name, and left the episode names unchanged. For some odd reason, it recognized everything properly, and I simply locked the show to prevent any changes. It seems to work now.
