Metadata from information sites without API - Palim - 2023-08-02 Hello, I love documentaries and have plenty of them. Many of them are automatically detected and then entered correctly in Jellyfin. However, there are also a lot of documentaries that are not on IMDB, TheTVDB or similar portals and therefore cannot be identified automatically. These are almost always programs from German television. On the site www.fernsehserien.de are almost all descriptions, episodes, cast, etc. for these programs. Unfortunately not always the pictures. But there is a missing API and scraper for it. Unfortunately I have no idea about DotNet and at my age I don't want to start with it, so I thought about how to solve the problem. The mentioned site does not have an API. But I am able to parse web pages and read out corresponding information, prepare it and offer it e.g. via REST API. Is there a way or a plugin that you can somehow link such a service to Jellyfin? Or even better: Is there possibly already a dynamic interface or any API functions with which one could realize something like that? With this one could then simply integrate any information pages. I would be very happy about a feedback and hope that you are also interested in something like this. It is not only about this one provider, but maybe about a dynamic connection for any information pages without API. Kind regards, Palim RE: Metadata from information sites without API - thornbill - 2023-08-02 Scraping information in this way is against the terms of service of most services so Jellyfin would not provide any type of direct support for it. RE: Metadata from information sites without API - Palim - 2023-08-12 Sorry for my late response. Yes, you are absolutely right. I had not considered that. Can be closed... |
