Jellyfin is clunky - Why - Owner - 2024-04-21

Jellyfin is often slow just blue rotating circle.

Emby is quick no rotating circles, when i use the same external hdd's

For some unexplained reason even although jellyfin is a fork of emby its slower to do anything.

Kodi is super fast, but misses way to many files in scraping, and doesn't even give them a thumbnail.

jellyfin, Emby, Kodi still don't seem to be able to inject metadata into the actual file.

Microsoft W12 Media Centre is unconfirmed, MS appear to be waiting till another Media Centre perfects metadata injection and correction.

I know I was looking for the ability to bulk-load .nfo data into my files, so that I would always have that metadata built into the file. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the ability to write data to the media files was purposefully left out because the developers never wanted the software to actually change your media. If some odd bug pops up and writes garbage to TBs of movies, that would be super bad.

So So True

But  I have 100TB MASTER, 100TB BACKUP, and then 100TB RESERVE BACKUP.

Any Writing Media Center can only stuff up the MASTER files, which hopefully I am advised have junk written when i compare to the BACKUP.

it sounds like you are looking for something like tiny media manager. the apps you are mentioning are what you use after your media is sorted out.
