is there a way to get the Music playlist to scroll as it plays down so one can see the upcoming songs?
Is it possible to see more of the metadata that one might see the artist name and track time in the playlist?

AFAIK, not with the official clients.

The official client shows the track time, but not the artist. If you are using a phone, the track time is only visible in landscape.
