Odd Interface - TE5LA - 2024-05-02

Running Windows server with Nvidia Shield Pro client. I have a music videos category. Only a few artists show thumbnails for each video while 95% of them don't. With the latter, I have to select the button "Version", and pick from a dropdown text menu and click a box.

Why no consistency?

I would expect them all to look like the first photo, but most are like the 2nd.

When you say "category" do you mean that the library TYPE is music videos? Or do you have music videos in a movies library type? "Versions", AFAIK, only happens in the movies library type when files are similarly named.

It is a Music Videos type category, featuring none other than music videos.

The first photo link I posted is what only about 5% are like. Most have the "Version" format with no video title and a dropdown to choose from.

I think I'm going back to Plex. It appears to have fewer issues, except for straight music audio, where it is garbage. Maybe I'll keep both and use Jellyfin just for music.

There are videos Plex plays fine, but Jellyfin won't play them. It says they aren't compatible. Maybe someone better with CODECS can tell me why:

Plex has better handling of additional users. I rather like to be able to see which uses have access and to exactly what content, and be able to edit it at any time. My clients do not even show up on the Jellyfin server, and I have connected three devices to it so far: PC, Android phone, and Nvidia Shield Pro.
