Issues with playback - SuperficialNight - 2024-05-07

Im having issues with playback of content.

I get this error: https://ibb.co/r5LC6JM

followed directly with this error: https://ibb.co/KWnRRMN

This happens not matter what content i play. Sometimes very rarely i can get one video to play but afterwards its back to that

Ive checked there is not issues with any of the content they are all saved in mkv under x265 some are x264

If i transfer them over to my main pc they play no problem with mpv or vlc

Here is some specs/stats about the host pc:
OS: Artix Linux x86_64
GPU: Intel GeminiLake [UHD Graphics 600]
Jellyfin-server-version: Jellyfin.Server 10.8.13.0
Jellyfin-client-version: 1.9.1

Turning on or off hardware acceleration for transcoding does nothing and forcing transcoding also does not play the video.

I currently use Intel QuickSync (QSV) for hardware acceleration.

You will need to assess individual files. Recreate the issue and provide your Jellyfin and ffmpeg logs (Dashboard > Logs) by uploading them to a pastebin site. Also helpful would be mediainfo (command line output) or ffprobe for the media, since the container and codec do not tell the whole issue.

In addition, how is the server installed? Bare metal? Docker?

Do you know the exact model of your processor? Because Gemini Lake CPU != Gemini Lake iGPU. Looking at UHD 600, it's a Celeron processor most likely. Most of them support QuickSync as far as I can tell. You'll have to check the specific product specs page for the processor to be sure.

I've been looking for a page like this forever, so I'm posting it (despite the fact that it doesn't have the 600): https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/technical/encode-and-decode-capabilities-for-7th-generation-intel-core-processors-and-newer.html
