Android client alternative - dduniam - 2024-05-07 So, I'm pretty new to Jellyfin. The server side looks pretty good so far, but the Android client for TV is, well, very average at best. Is there a better Android client out there ? I have an Nvidia Shield TV Pro with Kodi installed using Windows Media Server, can Kodi be used to connect to Jellyfin please ? RE: Android client alternative - 2cute2betrue - 2024-05-07 I come from the opposite. I think the JF Client itself is quite good and clean and i happy with it. But even on the Shield 2019 Pro it struggels to play some DTS files, while Kodi (or in my case CoreELEC) plays it all. There are 2 addons for KODI in extra repos(https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/clients/kodi/) + the Kodi Sync Queue (https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/plugins/) plugin for the server to keep everything in sync. RE: Android client alternative - dduniam - 2024-05-07 Thank you, I'll give those a go. RE: Android client alternative - STM - 2024-05-28 For Android I like https://github.com/jarnedemeulemeester/findroid RE: Android client alternative - gccalvin - 2024-05-28 Symfonium is amazing. The only downsides is that it isn't FOSS, and it's $3 dollars to purchase. You can get a free trial and see if you like it. I'd choose Finamp over Symfonium now. |
