Random audiobooks not registrering - Potetstappe - 2024-05-08 So I began building my Jellyfin audiobooks-library the other day, but fairly quickly ran into some weird roadblocks.. I have around 40 audiobooks in the library, and it has begun to - very randomly - not show certain books in the library. At first I thought it was mp3’s making it angry, but now there’s also some m4b-files missing. In the latest author I added, only one of two books showed up. I then began thinking it didn’t accept new books, but then I tried to remove and add my Harry Potter-books and they all came back in with no problems. There might be some books in the Brandon Sanderson library that are also missing, but I haven’t been able to pick anyone out just yet. If so, that would mean it is entirely random, as those came in quite early.. I’ve tried making an entirely new library, I’ve tried renaming the folder structure as I originally thought my Norwegian letter Ø was wreaking havoc - at some point I thought that was the fix, but I’ve now tried so many new fixes that I’m back to a folder with the letter Ø, and it’s functioning just as well as without.. And it’s the exact same books missing, no matter how I organize or throw things around. I’ve tried listening to them straight from the computer, and as far as I can tell they sound like any other audiobook.. sigh. I’d love to actually use Jellyfin for audiobooks as well, but… any suggestions? RE: Random audiobooks not registrering - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-08 Double check file permissions. Is there another application that touches these files that might be changing the permissions? RE: Random audiobooks not registrering - Potetstappe - 2024-05-08 Thanks for the quick reply! Unless there is some in-app permissions setting, it should have all permissions needed. I also redid their permissions now, but nothing changed. I’m fairly new to NAS-systems, so there’s very few applications in general. There shouldn’t really be anything else touching them - at least directly. I’m trying out “plappa” as my audiobook player, but that’s only reading the Jellyfin library, it doesn’t have access to the actual folders on my NAS. The only other applications I have are qBit and openspeedtest, none of which I believe are capable of much touching… The files are moved from qBit “territory” and to Jellyfin-folders once completed, so there shouldn’t be anything touching there either.. Edit: I run a Synology 224+ btw, with Jellyfin in Docker RE: Random audiobooks not registrering - Potetstappe - 2024-05-10 So today I tried adding a new book series, and they got indexed, no problem - but the books that didn’t show up then still don’t. Though they’re all playable in Synology’s browser-based desktop.. RE: Random audiobooks not registrering - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-10 Can you initiate a scan of your audiobooks library and then after it completes post the jellyfin server log to pastebin? RE: Random audiobooks not registrering - Potetstappe - 2024-05-11 Sure! Just a noob question first: Any information/IPs etc. I should black out before posting? RE: Random audiobooks not registrering - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-11 If your Jellyfin is publically accessible, find and replace any WAN IPs but leave something behind to indicate what was redacted. Like "Client public IP 1", "Server IP", etc. If you only use Jellyfin on LAN, those IPs are not sensitive. All the api keys and tokens are redacted in the logs. Maybe user names if you care about that? |
