Login on home network with pin - photoboy - 2024-05-09 Running on Windows, latest version of JF. I have a user setup and what I would like is to have it so when switching to this user OR logging in (on a in home networked TV) that user would have to enter a pin. I do not want every user to have to do a login from the login screen, only this 1 user. I thought it used to work that way but I can not get it to work at all. Pin is set, but user never has to enter it. Any help? RE: Login on home network with pin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-09 What client is on the TV? Android TV? Roku? Apple TV? RE: Login on home network with pin - crobibero - 2024-05-09 Pin login was removed for 10.9 so I suggest looking for another solution instead of sinking time into this one. If it makes it so ALL users have to go through a login all the time, that would not be good. If it is only a password for the user that otherwise would have a pin, I could live with that. It would just stay logged in. Optionally, you can use quick connect. Android TV? Roku? Apple TV? Maybe I did not make the situation clear. For the sake of argument, say I have 4 users. Users 1-3 are "normal" users and have "normal" access to libraries. User 4 has access to 1 or more additional libraries that users 1-3 do not have access to. When connected to user 1 and I want to change to user 4, I do NOT want it to just go to user 4. I want it to make user 4 put in a pin. If i go out as user 4 and then go back into the app, i do NOT want it to go back in without asking for a pin. It used to act like this, but I can't get that to work like that anymore. I would rather not have to have users 1-3 need to enter a pin/password at all, only user 4. But user 4 should need to do this whether switching in app OR when going into the app (if user 4 was the user last logged in. Hope that clears up my question. RE: Login on home network with pin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-10 I think we understand the question. I was just clearing up your statement about having to enter full on passwords on a TV. As crobibero stated, pins are going away. But quick connect via a mobile device is still an option instead of passwords or (soon to be EOL) pins. And will the 1 user have to enter a password every time, even when switching users in-app? Questions get asked, and either no one engages, or people engage and then ghost. If you're indirectly implying the community staff members (such as myself), we don't have a rule that forces us to respond to each post. The staff here is a mixture of volunteers and direct Jellyfin team members, each with different skill levels when it comes to whatever random topics that are brought up here. There's lots of topics I'm not of much help with, so I simply don't respond instead of waste people's time posting an "I'm sorry you're having an issue" filler comment.
