Music Share Problems - Gyro - 2023-08-04
Hello There!
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) x86_64
Kernel: 6.1.0-10-amd64
Jellyfin Version: 10.8.10
I have worked with Jelly before, but I'm still a newbie.
I don't know how many of you listen to Rammstein & Lindemann (the band). But I have issues with these albums and singles:
- Albums: Raritaten, the untitled album that is usually called 'Rammstein', Skills in Pills.
- Singles: Ich Hasse Kinder.

Jellyfin lists all the content of the Albums but when I want to listen any of the song where the metadata did not pulled correctly (this is what I think the problem is but I am not 100% sure) I get this:

Well it seems like you have 2 different problems : 1. Having the album identified by musicbrainz & 2. Playback issues. Renaming the files correctly will not necessarily change much because Jellyfin Musicbrainz plugin uses the existing tags embedded in the files to identify it. There are 2 solutions - you can either get some music tagging software & run the files through that to correct the existing tags or first figure out the actual names of the albums, punctuation & characters are important. If you right click or click the 3 dots (bottom right corner) of the album it will bring up a menu that has a field called identify. Click "identify' & it will bring up a new menu that will allow you to enter info that will identify the album via musicbrainz. enter the name & year ( eg. name: Raritaten 1994-2012 year: 2015 & (for untitled) name: Rammstein year: 2019) & click the blue search button. A series of titles will come up & select the correct one, now your album will be identified correctly in Jellyfin's database. When entering the name never include anything other than the actual name (eg. enter "Skills In Pills" not "Skills In Pills (Special Edition)")
Now as far as playback my experience with files that start with 00 like "00 - Ich hasse Kinder.flac" is that they really are not music files at all - must be some reference file that is produced when the media was "ripped. Check the actual file size & try to open it with another program. Chances are it is nothing. Also make sure that the client you are using (ie: web browser, Jellyfin Media Player, et.) handles that type of media correctly.

Thank you for your help, you helped a lot. But not all problems solved... The playback issue is due to firefox. I tested on other firefox forks like waterfox and the issue is still there. With Chrome based browsers I had no problems with playback. The windows client Jellyfin Media Player works too.
Can the firefox issue solved on the client side or is it only firefox can solve?

Problem is with Firefox - although I don't remember having any problems playing .flac files only .m4a.
