10.9.1 install help - jschwar313 - 2024-05-13

I have jellyfin installed on my windows 10 machine, 64 bit operating system.  It is up to date.
My client is a firestick and it received the newest version yesterday or today.
I see there's an entry for windows server and it says to run the installer, but I have no clue where that is.  It's supposed to be an exe.  Is it jellyfin.exe or is that how you run Jellyfin on the server?

Also, I have my old directory still there, of course.  What files do I copy over and overlay in the new install directory?

How do I install the DNLA plugin for a windows server?  I haven't seen that under plugins.  I assume I need it for sharing to my TV, right?

Can you help me?

I can't make heads or tails of your post. What exactly are you having trouble with? Are you not able to connect to your server from your Firestick? Did you open Windows Firewall or allow jellyfin.exe to pass through the firewall? It should have prompted you to request access after the installer finished.

You do not need DLNA if you have devices that support our clients. DLNA is only for really old TVs that don't have Firestick/Android TV/Roku/Apple TV dongles/boxes.

what do you mean by "the installer"? It's just a zip file.

I downloaded the windows server from here: https://repo.jellyfin.org/?path=/server/windows/latest-stable

I don't see an installer. I tried looking under server and I don't see windows mentioned there.
