Best client hardware for TrueHD and HDR10 - Seb101 - 2024-05-14 I just discovered the LG WebOS app cannot output TrueHD over eARC due to a hardware limitation that means the native apps on LG TVs cannot output lossless audio. What is the most cost effective external device I can get that supports TrueHD and 4k HDR10 over HDMI? There is a lot of coverage of the Nvidia Sheild. Is that still the best? RE: Best client hardware for TrueHD and HDR10 - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-15 The Shield is still the best in most people's opinion. Particularly with regards to audio. It's codec support doesn't include AV1 if that matters. RE: Best client hardware for TrueHD and HDR10 - Seb101 - 2024-05-15 Thanks! Does it need to be the ‘Pro’ version or will the regular Shield TV suffice for this also? RE: Best client hardware for TrueHD and HDR10 - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-15 I think the the Pro is the model to get. |
